My Indiana Newbie Handgun Carry and Acquisition Journey

Ruger 380 LCP with American flag on slide

In 90 days I have bought five and now own four handguns.

My carry license in the state of Indiana cost about $175 and took four weeks from start to finish including finger printing, to find my snail mail, mailbox.

Indiana is a “carry” state ~ you can open carry or conceal carry ~ no one cares and the license is reciprocal with 25 states ~ although not Illinois.

On October 2nd 2020, I walked across the street to Chase bank and cashed in $525 worth a five-dollar bills, that I had been tossing into a drawer for about six months.

A blind eye for the homeless

Mental_Disorder_Silhouette.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans with serious mental illness sleep in jails, shelters, and prisons on any given night. Fewer than 40,000 are in state psychiatric hospitals.

This is largely due to federal policy, the Institutions for Mental Disease Exclusion, which created a financial incentive for states to kick the mentally ill out of hospitals.!  How the hell can this happen, you ask?

The IMD Exclusion, part of the 1965 law that established Medicaid, prevents the program from funding care for mentally ill adults while they live in hospitals or even adult homes with more than 16 beds.

These small “institutions” were the bedrock of the mentally ill who would need long term health care, but the costs were staggering!

So, what did our lawmakers do?? They dressed up their problems in their Sunday best and threw their collective asses out in the street! The budgetary requirements for the 1965 Medicare/Medicaid would shit can any hopes for this portion of the federal governments’ power grab from the states… so, they mistakenly believed that newly developed antipsychotic drugs and community mental health centers would obviate the need for institutions.

It’s been a disaster. Before Medicaid was enacted, states paid for psychiatric hospitalization, and it was readily available. But states soon realized that if they kicked patients out of hospitals, Medicaid would kick in and pay half the cost of care. This “deinstitutionalization” continues and the result is the larger part of the “homeless population” is a result.

The IMD Exclusion is turning business districts into homeless camps, forcing police to run shadow mental-health systems, causing chaos for families of mentally ill adults, and driving up costs. Yes, it can be fixed… but it hasn’t!

So, you’ve got Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter and Reagan…Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Shit Stain… not one of these fuckers did a thing about it!  As my Jewish friends say “lozn sey geyn”. I’ll have you look that one up, just to see if you are paying attention! Until… until…wait for it… wait for it… YES PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP!!   Old Fearless steps up and puts up his budget that would end a 55-year ban of Medicaid funding for institutional care!

However… you guessed it… it’s stalled in Congress.  So, next time your heart is moved by these poor folks plight, remember… President Trump is the only president since 1965 that took the initiative.

Nobody Does It Better

This is an interview with President Donald J. Trump on January 6, 2020:

We’ve been going through this now for over three years. It was evil. It was corrupt. It was dirty cops. It was leakers and liars. . . . It was a disgrace.

Had I not fired James Comey, who was a disaster, by the way, it’s possible I wouldn’t even be standing here right now.

We caught him in the act. Dirty cops. Bad people. If this happened to President Obama, a lot of people would have been in jail for a long time already. Many, many years. . . .

This is a political thing, and every time I say this is unfair, let’s go to court, they say, “Sir, you can’t go to court, this is politics.”

And we were treated unbelievably unfairly, and you have to understand we first went through Russia, Russia, Russia. . . . .

We had a rough campaign. It was nasty. It was one of the nastiest, they say.

They say Andrew Jackson was always the nastiest campaign.

They actually said we topped it. It was nasty in both the primaries and the election. We thought after the election it would stop, but it didn’t stop. It just started. Tremendous corruption. Tremendous corruption.

So we had a campaign. Little did we know we were running against some very, very bad and evil people with fake dossiers, with all of these horrible, dirty cops that took these dossiers and did bad things. They knew all about it. The FISA courts should be ashamed of themselves. . . .

And by the way, Hillary Clinton and the DNC paid millions of dollars for a fake dossier, and now Christopher Steele admits that it’s a fake because he got sued by rich people.

I should have sued him, too, but when you’re president, people don’t like suing. I want to thank my legal team, by the way. Not for that advice, but for other advice.

Thank you, President Trump…   Johnson Long and 70 million other Americans

Donald Darth Trump

Donald Darth Trump  is the person elected 45th president of the U.S. by voters in November 2016. That is the Trump who delivered the State of the Union speech Tuesday….. an enumeration of his policies and a look at the content of his re-election campaign, right before his acquittal of all articles of impeachment on Wednesday.

Donald  Darth Trump, the “Trump” of the Democratic Party’s imagination—a Darth Vaderish emperor of evil, whose speech House Speaker Nancy Pelosi methodically tore to pieces, as if summoning an ancient curse that would finally make Donald DarthTrump melt into a puddle before her.

Donald Darth Trump is the character Bernie Sanders calls “the most corrupt president in history” or in Mike Bloomberg’s TV ads is “an angry, out-of-control president.” …. but meanwhile.. .rest of the country went about its business the past three years enjoying the greatest economy imaginable, and the safest the USA has ever been in the last four presidencies.

Nonetheless, all the Democrats and all but one of Washington’s media have tried and tried to reimagine the U.S. presidency as a kind of Star Wars trilogy between the forces of good and rank evil in the person of Donald Darth Trump!!

The first episode was “The Russian Collusion Narrative” in which Donald Darth Trump conspires with the head of the Russian Empire to destroy American democracy.!!! The second installment, taking up where the Mueller cliffhanger left us, was “Obstruction of Justice,” which after the “Collusion” blockbuster had a strikingly short run.

Then came the Donald Darth Trump trilogy’s final installment: “Impeachment,” with headliners Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler. The box office for “Impeachment” was awful, and it ended up getting 52 thumbs down in the U.S. Senate…. and just one vote on one count from that traitorous Temple Guard played by Holy Mitt Romney.

The phrase “moderate Democrat” is looking increasingly oxymoronic. These “moderate” candidates are something else, a political animal undergoing evolution from mod to progressive. They’re now mod/progressives, an uncertain species difficult for voters to identify with as you recall from the Star Wars Cantina scene.

To distract from their own divisions, ineptness, racism, gender issues, and on and on ad nauseam….their solution has been to create Donald DarthTrump.  Who …as either impeached creature or president….. just hit 49% approval in the Gallup poll and will hit the mid 50’s as the Democrat Convention draws nearer.

30 million dollars a day

Nadler sums up the Democrat’s case for impeachment ” He is a dictator! He wants to be all powerful!”

Let’s count the ways in which Mr. Trump is “all powerful.” Does he control elections? His party lost two governorships in 2017, the House and a net six governorships in 2018, and another governorship and the Virginia Legislature in 2019.

How about the courts? Mr. Trump’s policies were subject to some 40 national judicial injunctions in its first 32 months, compared to 20 for the Obama Administration in eight years. Mr. Trump often wins on appeal, but until he does his policy agenda has been blocked in the courts. Mr. Trump has not defied a judicial order.

Does he control or censor the press? Nearly every major media outlet spent two years promoting a false story of his collusion with Russia. The press overwhelmingly supports impeachment and opposes his agenda. His plea to change the libel laws has gone nowhere.

Does Mr. Trump control his own Administration? The bureaucracy leaks with seeming impunity, including the unprecedented leak of the transcripts of presidential calls with foreign leaders. One such disclosure by the famous whistleblower triggered Mr. Trump’s impeachment, making him only the third President to be impeached. As dictators go, Mr. Trump must be the least powerful in history…. and that’s costing us 30 million dollars a day…
